Testimony of Bernie Saftler

Dear Anita,

I must tell you how pleased I am with the results of my association with the Hallelujah Acres diet, and your instructions and enthusiasm.

In November, 2004, while checking out a small physical problem, my internist took an unrelated chest x-ray. The original problem was easily corrected, but the x-ray showed a tumor in my right lung. Surgery followed and a malignant tumor was removed from my lung. A lymph node was removed, analyzed, and found to be malignant also, so it had metasticized.

I told the oncologist that I didn't want any treatment. I've seen too many people suffer( and some die ) from chemo. I lost my wife 2 years ago to lung cancer that had been treated with radiation.

One of the nurses that came to my house (Donna) told me about you and your "diet". When you told me of what your diet consisted, and what it tried to do, I thought it made a lot of sense, and I gave it "full speed ahead".

As you know, I have adhered to the diet very strictly, since it was my life in the balance. I have been a believer in exercise for many years, especially since I had a heart bypass 16 years ago, so the exercise part of the diet was fairly easy. I also had the poor judgement to smoke for 30 years- from my U.S. Navy days at 20 years old til 50 when I quit. As for the food portion, I made up my mind that I would do it, and I did. And I really do like the taste of carrot juice.

Being human, I would lose my resolve at times, but thanks to your optimistic attitude, I too became very optimistic. It was much easier to "stick with it " with you behind me. Some of my very close friends keep saying that could never keep to the H. Acres diet, but they don't know you.

Finding the time and patience to juice carrots and make salad, and diversify my diet were easy problems to conquer, and are now second nature to me.

Three months after surgery, a Cat scan was done, and they said it showed "no new growths", which was very heartening
Six months after surgery, a Cat scan showed "Absolutely no sign of any cancer" To say I am thrilled is a long way from my actual elation.

I must say that this diet has had me feeling so healthy and strong that I really knew I was going to be O.K. I still remember buying Tums in the large economy package, but I haven't taken even one since I started this diet.

As you know, I'll be 83 next month ( Aug. ), and must thank you again for this wonderful feeling of good health and vigor. (which I need when playing with my 4 great grandchildren)

With admiration and love,
Bernie Saftler

P.S. If you feel that this testimonial will help others, and wish to send it to H.Acres, it's O.K. with me, but please don't delete your credits.
